Centuries later that ideal no longer stands, as we have hordes of single parents raising
children.
This is not an assumption, it is proven, and is what is known as the single parenting fact.
The fact of the matter is that single parents often come from single parents and so a cycle of
sorts is perpetuated. This is by no means an absolution, as there are other factors which contribute extensively to
the single parenting fact. Loss of a spouse or partner in a family household contributes to the single parenting

parenting fact has moved from being taboo to an easily accepted portion of our global population.

Among these people are Hollywood stars, famous talk show hosts, celebrities and sporting greats.
Do we look negatively at those who have been brought up by one parent? I say we dare not, as life and science has
proven these people to be the great fighters and over comers of the ages. So what is it then about the single
parenting fact that would possibly raise inquiries into it? Well, let’s explore a few ideas regarding the single
parenting fact.
Examining Past And Present Single Parents
As we take a step back in time and observe the socio economic changes that we have experienced
as a species, we notice a few important factors that have culminated in single parents and their children being
perceived as outcasts to being accepted and integrated into society as a normal functioning contributor.
The idea of single parents or of children coming from single parents would often have had the
tag of being religiously immoral. A single mom would have been looked upon as a harlot, and a single man would have
had to replace his lost wife quickly to gain dignity back.
Today, we find the single parenting fact receives acclaim when a son or daughter of a single
parent rises above and outshines a child from a 2 parent household. We’re by no means haggling 2 parent households,
as that is the way family was intended, but we look at the single parenting fact with less judgment and acknowledge
that there are considerable factors involved that lead to single parents and that they should be commended where
necessary for their bravery and commitment.
