If you are expecting a child and have received flyers or letters from your hospital or doctors office about parenting 2bclasses, you might be wondering what you can expect to learn from such an event and if it really is worth the time and money.

In one word – yes, it is a great idea to attend a parenting 2bclass with your partner because even if you feel you know the basics of childbirth and caring for a new baby, there is no harm in brushing upon the basics. Parenting 2bclasses vary in their format as far as how many sessions there are, how long each session is, how much they cost if anything and who is teaching them as in a registered nurse, a parenting expert like an author or a doctor.

However the common thread in all parenting 2bclasses is that they try to prepare rookie and veteran parents alike about how best to care for their new arrival. While you may feel how hard could it be to change a diaper and your husband may feel that childbirth is a natural process and women have been undergoing it for centuries, there are lots of things you can learn.

Many parenting 2bclasses focus on Lamaze and other coaching and relaxation techniques that help the mother during labor.

Parenting 2bclasses also focus on umbilical cord care, what to do if a newborn even has a slight fever, when to call a doctor, when to clip toe nails and how to give a baby a bath the first few weeks until the umbilical cord heals completely.
