Under the Clinton Directive in 1995, schools can teach about religion in social studies classes and the like but they can not teach religion per se. Home schooling is no longer just about sitting around the kitchen table doing lessons. Whether you take the Christian parenting approach or not, thanks to the internet, the learning process is more hands-on now with audio visual supplements to books, lots of field trips, music, art, sports and the like.

Christian parents and other home schooling parents often utilize the resources at the local park districts for gym, science labs and other such activities that they may not be able to provide in a home setting.
