Reproductive Health
During the conception process--and once you find out that you're going to have a baby--it is important to keep your health intact. Reproductive health not only benefits you, but can benefit your baby both now and in the long run.
Even before you are absolutely sure that you want to become a parent, you can practice reproductive health. Proper nutrition, a balanced diet of fruit, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains, and a regular exercise program will help your body to prepare for carrying a child, or for increased sperm count. It is also a good idea to limit your alcohol intake and to stop smoking as soon as possible. Alcohol and nicotine take a toll on sperm production and egg fertilization, not to mention the host of other health problems they cause.
Learning about certain herbal supplements before taking them will also help you to prevent infertility. If you are considering becoming pregnant, then certain supplements such as black cohosh and wild yam root are probably not safe to take at this time. These herbs have been used as natural birth control in the past, and are also used to help menopausal women manage night sweats and estrogen levels. If you are taking these herbs, then talk to your doctor about how these supplements may affect your chances of getting pregnant. You should also check to make sure that you are not damaging your reproductive system by taking these herbs; some women are too young for the supplements, and this could affect their reproductive health in the future. A multivitamin, as well as additional dosages of vitamin C or iron should be adequate, unless you have special health concerns that should be discussed with your doctor.
One of the best ways to protect your reproductive health is to practice safe sex-all the time. You have to prevent the spread or infection of STDs for yourself and your partner, and you'll need to do all you can to prevent yourself from contracting HIV/AIDS. Your reproductive system is one of the most fragile systems in the body, there are some sexually transmitted diseases that do not exhibit any signs or symptoms in the body until the condition is in its worse stages. By scheduling regular checkups with your doctor, using condoms, and being monogamous, you can preserve your reproductive health for years to come.
If you want to know more about reproductive health, infertility drugs, and methods that could increase your chances of parenthood, then you can visit sites like www.babycenter.com, www.webmd.com, or www.mamashealth.org. There, you'll find natural and conventional methods for protecting your health, as well as the health of your baby.

Fertility Facts & Tips
When it comes to ovulation, men are typically unable to tell when a woman is ovulating. Unlike the animal kingdom, males must rely on the female to let him know when ovulation is occurring so they can have intercourse in order to reproduce. Just before ovulation, the female often notices cervical changes, such as an increase in mucous production. The female also has an increase in body temperature which signals the beginning of the ovulation phase. In some cases, a female might even experience a heightened sense of smell as well as a stronger libido just before ovulation.
