Not being about to have a child is definitely a heartbreaking issue for some couples, but due to medical advances and certain lifestyle changes that can be made, female infertility can be treated. If you are a woman who is trying to get pregnant, this information may prove to be very helpful.
First, you should keep of the amount of time you have been trying to have a baby. You are only considered 'infertile' if you have been attempting to conceive for a full year, which means you have had unprotected intercourse throughout the entire year. So, if you have only been trying for a few months, then don't worry. There are lots of factors that may lead to why you're not getting pregnant, and they may not be an indication that you or your partner are unhealthy or infertile. Your body is on a schedule, like all things in nature, and if you are in good health and are communicating with your doctor regularly, you will most likely be expecting in due time.
The timing of your cycle or ovulation will also play a part in female infertility. Many women do not have regular cycles, so the optimum time for conception is not known. Hormonal issues that may occur after certain surgeries, or after being on the birth control pill for extended periods of time may also make it difficult to become pregnant. You can talk to your doctor about taking certain medications that will promote healthy and regular activity of the ovaries, and if your cycle is the problem, these medicines can help your body to function properly over time.
If you have had certain surgeries to remove cysts or a fibroid, or have scar tissue from these procedures, then your fertility could be affected. The scars could be blocking the opens of the fallopian tubes, making it difficult for the egg to be fertilized. If your cervix does not open completely, then you may find that this will make conception difficult as well. Specialized treatment is available from your doctor, and treatment may include not taking certain medications, or having minor surgery.
If you have had a physical examination and found that your cycle is fairly normal, and there are no internal issues, then you may need to changes your diet and lifestyle in order to prevent female infertility. For instance, try working out more if you already exercise a few times a week, or replacing the wine you have at dinner with a glass of fresh fruit juice. You should also stop smoking, since nicotine can constrict the blood vessels and prevent the female reproductive system from functioning properly.
