Recognizing The Problem

Childhood bullying can have many long term effects. According to studies, one of the long term effects of bullying is the inability of a person to properly relate to others. In many cases, people who have suffered through a lot of bullying when they were young are reclusive and pretend not to enjoy socializing with others.

Although there may be some people who do not really like to socialize, there also those people who want to but are just afraid that they will be rejected. If you are one of those people who want to socialize but are just afraid to come out of your shell because you do not like to be rejected, you must deal with your problem squarely. Do not deny the problem. The more you deny the problem, the worst off you will be.

Getting Help

Once you have acknowledged that you are suffering from the long term effects of bullying, you must do something about your situation. Always remember that acknowledging the long term effects of bullying is just the first step. Merely acknowledging the problem will not make the problem go away. You need to seek professional help so that you can get over the situation. Find a good therapist who can resolve your bullying issues. Ask for referrals from your relative and friends. If your friends and relatives could not give you good referrals, you may contact the local association of therapist in your area and ask for referrals.

Talking about your problems will help you resolve them. The more you are able to talk about the things that are bothering you, the more you will be able to deal with what happened to you in the past.
